Nina Sims joined the Community College Workforce Alliance in October, 2007. Prior to CCWA, she was Director of Marketing at the Virginia Department of Business Assistance (DBA) where she coordinated all marketing and public relations for the agency including the agency's economic development seminar series, annual Business Appreciation Week activities and media relations. Prior to joining DBA, Nina was a senior marketing associate with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership for six years where she coordinated the agency's trade show presence - both domestic and international, to assist business development managers and economic development leaders in the recruitment of businesses to the Commonwealth.

Personal Interests: Nina is a native of Chesterfield County, Virginia (Matoaca). In addition to her job responsibilities, Nina has served on the boards of the Junior League of Richmond, Urban League of Greater Richmond, the Public Relations Society of America - Richmond Chapter, United Way of Central Virginia, Richmond Communities in Schools, VCU School of Mass Communications and the VCU Alumni Association and president of the VCU African American Alumni Council - and remains active in all of these organizations. For three years, she was also the Urban League of Richmond's program coordinator for Success Is Fun - a Saturday program for foster care teens sponsored by the Philip Morris Employee Community Fund.
